How High How Far How Fast and How Many Hours did you fly, gas burn etc.? The Rocketman is keeping tally so if you’re doing it we definitely want to hear about it. See the details E C U R B

Rocketman sets Maritime Record 11,019'agl check it out on youtube "Parajet Cyclone Flies in Canada"
Outstanding Trikes - video coming soon...View photo

Cyclone breathes Canadian - It finally landed and we ran it up mid February - the poor thing has no trike yet and the owner has stashed it away until proper landing gear can be attached (wheels, skiis etc.) see it on youtube "Cyclone hits Canada"

Rotary en Route - Jim will take delivery of the very first production Rotary PPG in Canada this week, a great way to start 2010. We will be announcing a run-up rendezvous party with tentative flights at Alma/Waterside at first opportunity. Congrats to Spudnic, a serious PPG pilot having his 4th motor in just a few years. Come witness the history with us on the Fundy Shores or catch the Hero HD GO-PRO footage soon to follow. Cyclone getting close - the boys are getting itchy to try this new machine and Spudnic gets the first one! Next issue will include fuel injection and auto compensated mixture (no more carbs to tune is good4us).

Trike's broke pilots-r-fine- The Brewmeister follows my lead by hammering in busting 2 axles on his new Flash trike. My crash was nose wheel in and snapped the trike frame. Pilot error all the way - landing engine out (cause there's a hole in me piston) without enough height for me and I think Jim was pre-occupied with the kill button and just made contact early in sinking air. Doaktown Air - on youtube under carvingair for "PPG Miramichi Floyin"

Swine Flew 2009 can be found on facebook

Balloon Fusion you like adrenalin? I recommend doing the PPG demo run for the balloon fiesta next year, very exciting show-offy spotlight eat that shit right up and it's your turn iffin ya gots paperwork for the man....the pre-balloon party was very good and we have several video's coming up soon - first taste is Todd's bloopers youtube & a flight on Vino on youtube he has a weekend 21 minute summary video on vimeo somewhere...more to come... Miramichi Party and off to the Balloon Fest Sept 11th is the Balloon festival in Sussex http://www.atlanticballoonfiesta.ca/ we will be having a Pre-Balloon Party (PBP) at the Doaktowm Camp (DC) and roasting pilots from away (RPFA) before we fly with the balloons (FWB). You're alredy crazy if you launch at the DC LZ so no whining if you book in trees or God forbid, the water... youtube see wires, rotor, current, etc. Lots of free camping and fly-fishing for da big salmon, think we should spin a pigger? Come on down and RPFA at the DC PBP! HA Rob Campbell's bringing the coffee!!!!!!!!!!

Brewmeister tours England in the SKYCAR Once around the park then home James! Get the dictionary out we need to spell rotary. View photos  1  2

Cyclone (Websters) (a) a storm or system of winds that rotates about a center of low atmospheric pressure clockwise in the southern hemisphere and counterclockwise in the northern, averages at a speed of 20 to 30 miles an hour, and often brings abundant rains. (b) TORNADO (c) any of various centrifugal devices for separating materials (as solid particles from gases or liquids)

Cyclone Fever (Markos' unabashed) what is sweeping the Maratime Reflex Squadron as of late and has pilots experiencing hot and cold flashes with the promise of vibration free power (ARGH) and lots of it (soon to have fuel injection, that's fuel injection). Symtoms include the irristable urge to visit the Parajet factory in England to see if there is indeed a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. View photos  1

Parajet Brochures are in free mailing if you would like information on the Volution models only - nothing yet for the Rotron. Send request View photos  1  2

Flying with a windy crew in Nova Scotia

More flying with hanggliders and paragliders on youtube

Across Canada on a PPG Please support Benjamin Jordan and company and parhaps they will allow us to accompany him across NB and more. above and beyond Canada

Todd's movie youtube, stay tuned for another movie starring Ted Dion - Pharmacist by trade Naturalist by nature.

Festival Pics Parrsboro Flying Festival courtesy of Ted Dion, pharmacist by trade - naturalist by nature...check Ted's adventures at www.ted.ca and see him launch in our upcoming movie 2 steps back 2 steps forward and awaaay. This was a cool year, we all flew together on Saturday - 25 pilots or so including so 4 or 5 hangies, 7 motorheads and a bunch of PG'rs. Motors were silenced for the ridgy thing and I can say the Fusion soars just loverly with motor weight/drag not an issue at Economy Mountain. We had 2 Revs, 2 Fusions, a ReAction, and a Sting and a Sky Fides too...XC to the lobster boil on da beach HOOYA we had so much fun we be lucky if they invite us next year. One youngster landed his motor on the beach at high tide, right next to the trehuggers lobster pot only to hike the motor up a 100' Fundy slope where the old farts toplanded like rockets on rails. The second magic air for me in as many years, it just goes up and is floaty. PEI up next?

Nucleon is out of the gate new tricks ball bearing pullies on the speedline and wingtip steering a la Michel Carnet, swiveling brake handles hang on there's more at Dudek paragliders youtube

Bradley looses 45lbs he says spring has sprung so getting the ya ya's out - footlaunch style, feeling free like a bird again - lighter with no trike attachment, skiis and bulky winter threads. You can see the joy in the pictures but where's da grass?  View photos  1  2

Local PPG/PG Gossip Line yahoo groups  Canadian Paramotor Pilots. The first BIG fly in of the year is "The Minas Basin Washout" we hope to capture the best cover photo yet for Paramotor Magazine If we don't make it on the mag then all we get is the best laminar flying conditions available coupled with the finest scenery the country has to offer - and Jimbo's beer & wine don't forget the booze and Michaels lobster & of course to fly when the treehugger cannot is priceless (for everything else there is mastercard). Thanks to Todd for the talk line and dedication to both disciplines. We motor to ridges HOOYA

See the treehugger blog at Pegasus Paragliding, updates to the annual Festival of Airsports should be completed no less that 1 week before flying - motor humor; ;o)

McLeod GPS reads 90 down wind Winds picked up and blasted Jimbo down the Kennebecasis Valley at high speed. He was thankful to be on a reflex wing and dump those trimmers for extra stability (and he got home faster too), had to use throttle for landing to avoid the negative foward ground speed. Yeoww back to weather school for everybody, rumor is the boating squadron has a course. Grounded now, the Brewmeister can be found drining heavily from the long handled Draught Tap. Gust fronts Bad. MagicBob has captured the award for most frequent winter flyer around these parts and his pictures are sweet. View photo  1

Lots of ice above the dam but getting slushy on top, see the high water/ice line those culverts under the causeway are big enough to drive a 25' boat through in summer, been there. View photo  1

Parajet News: Skycar, the Rotron, and Yuneec, the electric option

The Skycar Expedition was successful and they have landed in Africa after crossing the Straight of Gibraltar (an impregnable stronghold). Who has more fun than the PARAJET TEAM ? - that's a no-brainer question because it's no one else on the planet. See Gilo talk about the Parajet SkyCar expedition on the BBC.The Rotron engine is nearing production and I am getting inquiries already, so it would be good to get one bolted on the Macro for demo this summer...follow this lead http://www.parajet.com/index.php?id=28 and for the hottest news in the Paramotor industry follow this page http://www.parajet.com/index.php?id=3&no_cache=1 It's all happening at Parajet, innovative leadership for the Paramotoring community.

Lift-off soon 4 Skycar XC - Action, GT style View photos  1

5 PPG's launch from Weyman - that was supposed to be 5 trikes/quads on skiis but turned out to be 4 and a simple foot launcher. Bob cooked another F-200 and gets a back up quad out of the hangar. I am pleased to say the infection has spread and cronic PPG pilots are on the rise, air addiction is 3D wind in the face, resistance is futile. It's hard to contain this excitement - DO YOU GET IT???

Cast & Blast 08 Doaktown October 1st - October 15th bring yer shotguns & wheelers, fly rods & waders, campers, paramotors and don't forget yer women. 2 weeks so pick yer window, or stay the whole stretch - warm up this moosey weekend cause we got no tags this year. Lucky parties with vacation time left may share some pristine quiet time through the work week untill the weekend warriors arrive. Free4all till it gets out of hand.Don't forget your heated gloves as we got longish Xc's in both directions up and down da riva. SHOOTERS are out this weekend so mind your P's and Q's these are backwoods redneck hillbillys we're talking about here and their motto is "If it runs chase it, if it flies shoot it" so you are on your own and will have like minded company and NO, you cannot shoot back (from the air that is)!!!!!!!!!

Reserve deployment on launch my reserve chute came undone jostling about on take off last week. Witness's said a left wing cravatte so I would not rule out a line tangle around my reserve deployment handle (initially) - I ignored the "pop" as my feet left the ground (the UV protective cover on post inspection). No I could not hear 5 people screaming whistling and frantically waving their arms fearing the worst. When the slack was out of the bridle I was approximately 10' or so. Preceeding the halt of forward movement there was a surge which felt like very good lift for a fraction of a second, then it opened and I stopped...RIGHT NOW in mid air...very strange I thought and looked back (nice looking reserve). Shit, almost NO forward speed but a surprisingly slow descent (like an elevator) one wing wanting to fly and another very much not. Very soft touch down (better than many of my regular landings) constituting one of the shortest flights ever. Sup Air FRONT MOUNT with instrument container on the way so I can keep it in sight.

Balloon Festival This year Frank got permits to fly at 500' for some pilots while he and Raynald took off from the balloon launch and woo'd the crowd up close and personal. It went good for motors at a tree hugger convention...windy enough for ya? View photos  1  2  3

Ya need a speed-bar to catch one of these baby's

Congratulations Tipsters now THAT"S an XC but they appeared to hang around Dundee for a while...d'you suppose?

Coastal XC I wanted to land here real bad - no guts no glory. GPS tracks are working again so you can see where I turned around due to lack of LZ's and the obvious high tides at the Fundy Coast (highest in the world "averaging 12 meters") water bad. View photos 1 2 3

short runways can mess a guy up, and the ocean can pull hard on your wing if it gets a grip on the leading edge - rinse the canopy it if this happens to you, then stretch your lines (Canadian Lemming racing toward ocean) View photo 1  you can paddle but you cannot hide. Private beach in the middle of St. Martins sweeet! View photo 1

Miramichi Foot Bridge was the target for Saturday's run up the Main Southwest Miramichi River. Spudnick's Silver Rev is carrying about 300+ pounds with this trike. Jim has nearly 10 flights in on this new wing (a couple of XC's) and is ready to dump the trim tabs and explore the speed & comfort of the Reflex technology (so he says). Watch on youtube
Close up of a Silver 28m² Revolution by Paramania. The Archos captured video of this run so we will have some action to view and perhaps a taste of what a PPG Dogfight would look like. View photos 1 2 3

Across PEI and almost back. Mike ran out of gas before me HA HA Mike - what a way to meet a guy! We had some Para-Flyers, New Englanders, Ontario and Maritime Pilots - yeah I wanna Gator Tip like they wanna land on ice, but we shared some nice air together and lobster don't forget the scrumptous lobster and steamed mussles. I'm gonna make a movie from the not so trusty Archos and will include a blooper debut from Dan the Paint Ball Man a guy who can run right through a sit down on launch - truly amazing.
Flying Philosophy, interview with birds at youtube don't worry be happy. Thanks Bill

View photos 1 2 3 Lady Pilot shows us launching skills in a bit of rotor wind. (photo by Carolyn Dean) and rocketman loves the new trike! Nice Island to fly across, with a landing zone wherever you run out of gas, Thanks to Frank & Johanne for the doo you guys are putting on a good show!

3 Reflex Musketeers the Brew Meister received his new WJ 200 massive power for easy inflations - Rocketman scores a Simo 122 Tandem trike to compliment his WJ-XC here and the Monkeyman explores the new Parajet Volution Macro. Free Flight Video Duffman arranges video stash link and we share free flight bliss on foggy Fundy shores (Dennis Beach 2006). 3 clips of West Bay from the 2008 Festival. The sexist brokeback2 video has no place here except it's a tad bit humorous (and came with the program). Thanks to Todd and Brendon for the link and the awesome movie of our first free flight ridge running fabulously foggy folly. Make coffee while they load up...

Reflex Wings Gain Popularity Seven Paramotors joined the Free Flight Festival in Parrsboro, on the Fundy Shores of Nova Scotia four PPG wings that flew were Reflex Technology (5th reflex wing was present but remained bagged). The tides are a turning here...Reflex Technology Rules!

Parajet Volution Flies Fundy Shores Truly dynamic handling with low hang point swing arms. Harness adjustment makes a world of difference on this machine and I am getting the basics down now with the help from the boyz across the pond. No hands required anymore to get seated and thrust line feels good. You can see the Rev is restrung and compliments this motor nicely. View photo 1

Silver Revolution Flies Last Day of Winter We found a little pocket of high pressure between 2 rather large low pressure systems - just enough to test fly the new 28m² - we have all our colours now in the Maritimes. Spot Me please Satellite Messenger sends GPS coord's to your friends via e-mail address's and cell phone text messages. 4 functions from "OK" to "Help" to "Life Threatening Emergency" with a "24 hour real time tracking feature" (every 10 minutes). The e-mail notifications link with google maps for a visual on GPS points (too cool). This is not a cure all, but may give one increased security when flying alone in remote area's - and the wife will know where you are! Don't forget to get the insurance ($7.95) for peace of mind because a 911 chopper don't come cheap! See details at www.findmespot.ca View photos 1 Works like a treat!

Brew Miester Mr. McLeod has ordered his new silver Revolution 28m² and I am desperately trying to get it lettered to reflect his profound expertize in the art of brewing beer and wine. The old addage "8 hours from the bottle to the throttle" will have to be revised because this stuff packs a very serious punch!!!!!! The Brew-Miester snapped this shot of yours truly (me) while testing out the new tap system...brilliant Jimbo (trikester).  View photo1

Movietime we interupt this winter with video footage from last falls cross country flight to free flight ridge "The Cauldrons Lip" aptly coined by Sir Tim Rocketman Reicker, for it's feisty thermal accativity and elevator rides. See part 1 and then the landings in part 2 and call me a cinematagrapher moviemaker wannabe or whatever...

XC Fever we here in the Maritimes, are gearing up for some long flights this year too, nuthing like the Pro's across the pond but working on it. Here is a sample from mid-winter that we hope to improve upon...that water is thick ice and much of the green shown below is white, this time of year. View photo  1

Tip2Tip Supporter I wish safety and good fortune for my European comrades as they fly for charity this summer. On the 29th of July 2008, Six Paramotor Pilots start an epic flight for there chosen charities, ‘The Forces Children’s Trust’ & ‘The Regional Air Ambulances’. They are flying from Lands End to John O’Groats. They will cross 20 counties, over 700 miles and expect this flight to take 8 days of intense flying with most nights spent in tents at paramotorclub.org affiliate clubs along the route. They will have to navigate around major airways such as Plymouth, Exeter, Bristol, Birmingham, and East Midlands (not to mention the military Fighter Jet dog fighting in Scotland!) Bonne Chance!! The new Volution Macro (pictured above) is awaiting the new 3 blade prop. I parablended last week (on run-up), taking out 4" of a pulse prop tip, 10 lines, and a drive belt...snowy winter blues in pursuit of cool winter high - oh my...

In the meantime, the old Solo 210 goes for a run Feb.9 - 76.2km, 8 liters in 2 hours...surface high -2°c...nice winter XC up the frozen Saint John River above the Mactaquac hydro dam. The snow blanket is awsome but requires increased awareness in spiral turns, foot drags and landing - kinda all looks the same color white, like marshmello clouds...dreamy I know. View photos 1 2

Treehuggers Unite I go to show them how to fly the calm stuff but THEY LIKE the air that I won't fly in View photo 1

January Thaw!!! he smoke stack hovered still and I could not resist playing hookey - warmed up to minus 10° by 2pm and that's good enough for me...Jan 17th - 1 hour and 25 min of pure relaxation and church service...good for the head View photo 1

Parajet Fies Gondola Point 2 foot launchers and a trike take off the ice, that's 2 Revolutions and a Reaction - in wing talk. Nice air, warmed up to -6°C in the afternoon (from -19°)..more later

Parajet hath landed in Canada it's so nice. I have been walking around it for 4 days now, staring & drooling. Running in the motor at half throttle for 3 hours is taking enough time while I keep the dragon lady's honeydew list going. I have a couple of personal mods before taking to the skies. The swing arm system is a thing of beauty, harness is set up for speed bar, reserve and has independent swivel leg straps for running freedom. The cage is clean, simple and strong with take down too simple. The frame is a work of art, easy to carry and easy to look at, compact for storage. Leccy start is a thing of beauty - I knew I would like that part. The prop has me stunned though, it has wind grabbers on the tips what changes the sound and is more efficient (no specs on that yet just gut). I was expecting torque issues that I cannot explain the lack of yet - another pleasant surprise. The gas tank is huge.
